When Worlds Collide

I haven't been here on the OC very much in over a year. Life ... intervened ... what can I say? But there is one friend who I have here whom I met on the OC who has been my close friend, confidant and business partner for the last three-plus years. His friendship and support have never wavered. It's a testament to the quality of folks here at the OC that our friendship has endured.

And this past Spring a dream of ours was finally realized. He was able to come to the U.S. for a nice long visit (although not long enough, if you were to ask me!). It was great finally meeting my dearest friend in person. His energy and vibrance was something I was not prepared for. You *can* know someone fairly well online, but until you meet them in person, you just cannot get the whole effect.

Those two weeks that my friends spent here will be among the best memories I will ever have. There are places in my city that I see through new eyes thanks to them, whether it's a new restaurant, the beach at Galveston or the parking lot of a mall.

To my two friends I say, please hurry back! To all of you, please enjoy the few photos I managed to shoot during this whirlwind visit!
